The Equality Now 5K, Fun Run and Health Fair Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 9 a.m.
Veterans Memorial Park in Fayetteville, Arkansas

The goal of the event is to raise awareness about the health and wellbeing of BIPOC members of our community. While health inequities for the BIPOC community is not new, the recent pandemic has shone a light on the need for change. Health disparities for BIPOC individuals range from disproportionate COVID-19 hospitalizations and deaths to healthcare access issues and the general health and well-being of the BIPOC community. The BIPOC community has a higher rate of chronic disease, pregnancy-related deaths, infant mortality rates, mental health issues and more compared to the rates among white individuals.

The Equality Now 5K will bring together members of the BIPOC community and its allies to garner awareness of health inequities through community building and exercising, as well as offer a health care fair on-site.
